ps ...

i'm still eye-balling this steep learning curve.  as soon as i manage the next step things will start to go a lot smoother ... i hope!

in the meantime here are some of the projects i'm currently working on

our room is in desperate need of a make-over.  i'm almost done, just need a tweak here and there before i post some photos.

this dressing table and table were on their way to the skip when i intervened ... i immediately took the mirror off - i know exactly where that will go after i'm finished with it!

that bookcase you see in the reflection is also a project that was recently added to my list of things to do. i've already started but it's not quite ready for pictures.  i'll keep you posted!

here i am in action.  note my assistant taking a sneaky break ...

Look what we found in our back garden ...

okay, so it's not quite our back garden, it's the neighbour's. we were strolling in the wood early evening collecting pine cones and discovered these little toadstools. aren't they gorgeous!

and these were taken from our living room - i kid you not! the mama flew away when we lifted the curtain to get a better view.  her nest is in the shrub right next to the window.  those eggs look like chocolate eggs!

and i just had to take a picture of this - it lost its shape slightly as i ran to get the camera, but you'll still get the idea!

Chewing more than I can swallow ... again ...

As usual, I'm busy with far too many projects at once ... but hey, I'm not very good at watching paint dry so I might as well do something useful in the meantime.

Here is my current To Do list:
• paint and distress sideboard
• frame mirror (after I’ve sanded & painted the wood)
• make cover for electricity box
• bathroom make-over
• re-paint and re-upholster dining chairs
• re-pot succulents
• finish quilt(s)
• start with Christmas presents
• re-decorate Micah’s room

This morning I bought two fat quarters at the annual Calico Quilting Exhibition; which I turned into funky pajama pants for my little tiger. Easy project I hear you say, but as I’ve never made pants before, this is another check on my ‘Things to do before I’m 40’ list.

Note the pajama pants were not on the to-do list …

The sideboard is almost done, did a little bit of sanding this afternoon, paint on same places need to dry a little more. Also did some more sugar soaping on two chairs. One chair ready for painting! Yay!

What a difference the sugar soaping makes! It's almost a pity the chairs are not in the best condition - that wood really is lovely …
